My Analysis on Phyllis Wheatley Phillis Wheatley was an intelligent woman with one major(ip) downfall; she was a slave, however, Wheatley did not allow this characteristic to relegate her from doing what she wanted to do. As a slave, Wheatley was more than than fortunate to grant been taught how to read and write. She decided to take these talents and turn it into something even more positive, so she began writing poetry and letters. Although Wheatleys work was exceptional, it was not published.
