Nelson Mandela

During my lifetime I hold in dedicated myself to this struggle of the African people, I have fought against white domination, and I have fought against blacken domination. I have cherished the ideal of a participatory and free society in which all persons live unneurotic in harmony and with equal opportunities. It is an ideal which I look forward to to live for and to achieve. But if it needs be it is an ideal for which I am prepared to die.

Nelson Mandela was a man who fought for the rights and equality of inexorable South Africans. He did so by protesting his rights whilst in prison and using non-violent methods to try and beat the system whilst out. Mandela was seen as a hero among his people.

Mandelas Childhood was rough and horrible, even though he was an African Royal, he was a very unprivileged child, his sky pilot died at age 9 and when he went to school, because of his colour, there were limits on what he could be taught. Mandela was taught that all of the best ideas and Governments were British and that to gain ground in life, then you had to be white.

Being taught all of these racial ideas made Mandela see that he andMo others like him were underprivileged and something take to be done.

Once attending Fort Hare University in 1939 to study law, Mandela learnt that the British were arrogant, he was never going to capture a complete education, he was not going to be accepted in society and nor was he going to have opportunities to better his life. When Mandela moved to Johannesburg University, he was racially assaulted and finally in 1943 joined the ANC to help better the black society in the fight for freedom and equality. If you want to get a all-inclusive essay, order it on our website: Orderessay
